Community Guidelines
Effective date: _to be set on publication_
Last updated: 2026-06-06
These are the plain-language rules for being part of the RevvMeet community. They sit on top of the [Terms of Use](./terms-of-use.md) and the [Content Moderation Policy](./content-moderation-policy.md), which set out the formal definitions and enforcement. If anything in these Guidelines conflicts with the Terms of Use, the Terms of Use win.
01What RevvMeet is
RevvMeet is a community for car people. Builds, drives, meets, garage shots, route discovery, parts, vlogs, identity, history, and the company you keep on the road. We want it to feel like the best car meet you've ever been to — friendly, honest, technically curious, generous with knowledge — and we want it to be safe enough that everyone keeps coming back.
These Guidelines exist to keep that vibe possible.
02What's welcome here
- Builds in progress. Half-done, ugly, weird, brilliant — show your project at every stage. Builds are a journey, not a finished photo.
- Drives and meets. Routes, road-trip photos, organised meets, cars-and-coffee, track days, dyno days.
- Honest knowledge swap. Real questions, real answers. Recommend parts you actually used. Flag mistakes you actually made.
- Pros at work. Workshops, fabricators, painters, detailers, tuners — list your services, post your work, answer questions, take jobs.
- Tribe culture. Wear your identity. Defend the tribe with words, not threats.
- Marketplace listings for parts you actually have, with photos you actually took, at prices you actually expect.
- Live streams of garage sessions, drives (passenger camera only — see the safety rule below), Q&As, meet coverage.
03What's not welcome — ever
We act on these the moment we see them. Some of them get you banned on the first offence.
- Children in unsafe contexts. Any image of a person under 18 in a sexual, intimate, or otherwise exploitative situation. Zero tolerance. Reported immediately to law enforcement and to NCMEC where applicable.
- Threats and incitement. Threats of violence to a specific person, "I'm going to..." messages, doxxing somebody's home address, encouraging others to attack a person.
- Hate. Attacking someone based on race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, or gender identity. Disagree with ideas; do not dehumanise people.
- Terrorism content. Promotion or glorification of designated terrorist organisations or attacks.
- Sexual content. Pornography, nudity intended sexually, sexual solicitation, escort/sex-work promotion, deepfake intimate imagery. RevvMeet is a car platform, not an adult platform.
- Graphic real-world violence. Gore, torture, bystander footage of fatal crashes used as content, real-world weapon threats.
- Illegal goods and substances. Buying, selling, or coordinating the trade of illegal drugs, weapons, stolen vehicles or parts, counterfeit goods, or chop-shop services.
- Coordinating crime. Planning a theft. Planning a street race on public roads. Coordinating police evasion. Bragging about doing those things in a way that encourages others.
- Scams. Phishing, fake giveaways, "investment" pitches, marketplace listings with no intent to deliver.
- Doxxing. Posting someone's home address, full legal name (where they use a handle), workplace, phone number, or other private identifying information without their consent. Cars and number-plates of other RevvMeet users are also off-limits.
- Impersonation. Pretending to be another person, brand, or RevvMeet team member.
- Spam and brigading. Mass-posting the same content, scraping the app, automating engagement, organising mass-reports of someone you disagree with.
- Gambling promotion. Sportsbook ads, casino promotion, "guaranteed win" tipping services, paid-entry lotteries that aren't legal sweepstakes.
04Car-platform-specific rules
We're a car community. There are some rules unique to that.
- No glorifying dangerous illegal driving on public roads. Burnouts on a closed track or private property is content. Burnouts in a residential street is not. Posting "who's down for a street race Friday on Highway X" is not. Evading-police clips for the rush are not. Anything that encourages a copycat ends up costing somebody else their licence — or their life.
- No "crashing for content." Deliberately wrecking a car for views is content we remove.
- Live streaming while driving the car is off. You can stream from a passenger seat, from a parked car, from the pit lane, from the wrenching session. You cannot live stream while you are the one driving on a public road. We'll end the stream.
- No number-plate doxxing. Don't publicly post the plate of another user, or another road user you don't know, with calls to "find this car." Plates blurred are fine.
- Don't sell stolen parts. We treat the marketplace as a real one. If a listing pattern looks like fencing — VIN-locked parts at half price, no install history, won't ship — we remove it.
05How to be a good member
These aren't enforceable rules. They're the things that keep the vibe.
- Assume good faith first. Then be direct.
- If you don't know, say "I don't know." Recommend by experience, not by Google.
- Credit the people you learned from.
- Don't drag a fight from somewhere else into a thread that wasn't about it.
- Tag your photos honestly. Recolour to your taste, but don't claim somebody else's build is yours.
- New people are new. Help them out.
06How enforcement works in short
- We screen content with an AI safety classifier before it publishes, on both text and images.
- Reports go to the moderation team and an email queue; high-severity items get acted on within hours.
- We use a ladder: warning → mute → 7-day suspension → permanent ban. Severe violations skip steps.
- You can appeal any action by writing to support@revvmeet.com within 30 days.
The formal version of all of this is in the [Content Moderation Policy](./content-moderation-policy.md) and the [Reporting Policy](./reporting-policy.md).
07How to report
Every post, comment, profile, build, live stream, route, event, listing, and message has a "Report" option. Use it. Pick the closest category and add a sentence of context if it helps. We never tell the subject who reported them.
If you can't find the report option for a particular surface, email support@revvmeet.com with a screenshot and we'll handle it.
08Drive safely
RevvMeet exists because driving is one of the great experiences of being alive. It is also dangerous. We assume every member treats the privilege of driving on public roads with the responsibility it deserves: legal speed, sober, focused, eyes up, phone down. Pull over to use the app.
